Now a team led by researchers from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has found that the risk continues for many years.”There’s a two- to four-fold increase in a person’s risk of dying following a heart attack if they also happen to be depressed,” says Robert. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth (NYSE:WYE), announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved PRISTIQâ„¢ (desvenlafaxine), a structurally novel, once-daily serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), to treat adult patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). Wyeth expects to begin shipping PRISTIQ to wholesalers beginning in the second quarter of 2008.
